Today is the Great American Smokeout which serves to challenge people to quit their tobacco habit.  If you or your loved one are among an estimated 42 million smokers or 9 million smokeless tobacco users, make a change today—we support you!

Although being a replacement for tobacco is not the purpose originally intended for users of TeaZa—which is an energy supplement made with natural ingredients—the TeaZa pouch is a similar size and shape to the pouches smokeless tobacco users are already familiar with.  Time and time again, our customers tell us that TeaZa helped them curb and/or quit their habit.

A recent survey of TeaZa Energy current customers revealed:

  • Nearly 90% of respondents said they were supplementing their tobacco habit with TeaZa
  • More than 50% of respondents said they have completely stopped using tobacco products by using TeaZa as a substitute or replacement

We’ve all seen the powerful images on television from tobacco-free campaigns featuring stories of everyday people with missing limbs and stomas in their necks using voice prosthetic devices to communicate.  And of course the riveting CDC series that chronicles Terrie’s story—a tobacco smoker who is pictured as once vibrant and beautiful who deteriorates and passes away from cancer.

We’ve all heard the stories about smokeless tobacco habits that plague Major League Baseball.  A recent news story on ESPN.com reported 21 out of 58 Boston Red Sox players surveyed by a Boston Globe reporter during 2014 spring training said they dipped or chewed tobacco.  The same story went on to cite the late Tony Gwynn as stating in a 2011 interview, “Of course it caused it…I always dipped on my right side.” The hall of famer was referring to the parotid (salivary gland) cancer on the right side of his face—which he attributed to his habit of chewing tobacco on the right side of his mouth—that ultimately caused his untimely death at the age of 54.

Yet people still use tobacco products.  Isn’t the threat of radically deforming surgery, cancer and death enough?

“Many smokeless tobacco users are clearly aware of the health risks associated with their behavior,” says Clearwater Florida Physician, Dr. Brent Agin.  “However, their desire to quit is overpowered by an intense craving for oral stimulation.  To successfully quit the habit they need to have something in their mouth which will satisfy that craving,” Agin says.

Medical research has shown that oral fixation is a major contributing factor to cigarette and smokeless tobacco addictions.  TeaZa is an effective replacement for tobacco habits because it satisfies these oral cravings.

A movement toward tobacco free lifestyles is on the rise.  Last month CVS stores across the nation removed all tobacco products from shelves and announced a company rebrand as CVS Health.   A flood of headlines dominate today’s news about smoking bans and talk of smokeless tobacco being thrown out of the major leagues.

Join the movement.  Quit today—pop a TeaZa!
